So many types of questions such as am I living the life I’m meant to live? I’m confused, my thoughts race and swirl in my head – so much that it hurts!
No matter what age you are, you may wonder if you’re making choices to make the most of who you really are. But then the question pops up again, what do you want?
It feels like you don’t know which direction to take and wonder, “What is your purpose?” – or if your life has any meaning. It feels empty where you are; you feel invisible. The anxiety and overwhelm make you want to disappear.
You hear the stories of friends who are successful, who seem to have everything they want. Just look at Instagram stories, pictures of happiness, the perfect partner, the job of their dreams, friends having coffee, clothes, travel. What if you made all the wrong choices?
The fear of regret follows you. There are so many times you wish you had spoken up, but every time you did you got shot down. Your ideas at work or home never seem to be heard.
Even from a young age, it seemed like you were different. You’ve taken a different path from your parents. They don’t understand. It’s like they don’t hear you – but it doesn’t seem to just be them who don’t hear you. The message you’ve internalized is “be seen not heard.”
What do you want?
You used to love making music, writing, drawing, painting, or exploring theater. Tapping into the expressive arts used to be an inspired part of who you are, but it’s been so long. You wonder, is there any spark left?
Who are you?
Kids, jobs, relationships take it out of you. It’s gotten to the point that you feel lifeless, just going through the motions. Wake up, go to work, come home, go to sleep, rinse, and do-over. It doesn’t help that no one seems to understand what you’re going through.
