Call Me

“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.”– Brené Brown

About

Courage – doing something even though you’re scared

You’ve decided to take a chance on counseling, and now you wonder what it’ll be like to meet with me.

There is a brief hesitation in making that call, but deep inside you know that now is the time to understand your feelings, you're ready do something about the stress and anxiety, and find answers to who you are.

Self-doubts and second-guessing is tearing you apart. Living this way feels like being shaken up like the snowflakes in a paperweight. Emotions sometimes feel like they’re going to smother you – similar to stepping into an ocean and a wave catches you by surprise, crashing over you and taking your breath away.

End the Pretense

Pretending that everything is alright isn’t working. The anxiety, stress, and depression build to where you feel as if your nerves are on edge and might burst.

No matter what decisions you make, it feels like something (you) is wrong. But you don’t want to meet with just anybody.

You want to meet someone who’s been there.

You want someone who can provide a safe space, help you make sense of the confusion, and face the inner fears, those parts of yourself that don’t want to acknowledge. These are the parts you hide – the ones that “if only they knew” this about you, they’d surely be disgusted.

Even just thinking about these parts bring tears to your eyes. These are the tears of such deep sadness and frustration. A feeling is rampant through you that you don’t matter; you have a sense that you always let everyone down that you love.

Come find relief…

Coming into my office, (my zoom room) you notice a felt sense that it’s going to be okay. You feel safe, accepted, of being listened to and heard – that feeling of being safe in your body flows through you.

When you have the chance to tell someone what’s going on, how you truly feel, and what you want your life to be like, a sense of relief comes over you. You can take a deep breath, you sense your muscles relax, and the tension releases from your shoulders and neck or belly.

I will be your guide on this journey.

Working with me, I’ll teach and guide you with new and expert techniques that help reduce stress. You will learn to accept and even love yourself again. As you learn to trust yourself and your choices, you will find the freedom to live the life you choose.

My role is to help you distinguish and trust your feelings and to listen to your body by using methods that develop your body’s felt sense. Intuition-building and somatic exercises will connect with your true inner self. Realizing that you know what you want, it’s easier to think and plan for the future.

You can feel hope!

About Me

I understand what it’s like to grow up in an abusive home, to live in a crazy-making marriage, to lose everything and have to rebuild all over. Finding or rebuilding my self-esteem, confidence, and getting in touch with my “inner wisdom” or intuition is a journey I’m so grateful for.

This journey led me to go back to school and get my MA in Counseling. I began my counseling career by working in battered women’s shelters. Working with women who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, and family of origin issues was part of my own healing journey from trauma.

Since this is my journey, too, every victory, every win, is a celebration.

Using my experiences, knowledge, and training, I know I can help you, too.
